Elon Musk says he's lost 20 pounds after being 'fat-shamed' over yacht pics

The Tesla CEO told his followers on social media he'd been shedding some weight after pictures of him on a yacht emerged.

Tesla boss Elon Musk has said he's shed 20 pounds in weight after getting 'fat-shamed' over recent pictures of him on a yacht.

Last month pictures of a shirtless Musk kicking back and enjoying himself on a yacht in Greece had the internet agog.

Some people made memes, others made light hearted jokes and a few weren't quite so nice, shaming Musk for showing a bit of a belly which, let's face it, plenty of other 51-year-olds wouldn't mind having.

Musk didn't seem to mind the teasing all that much, instead basking in the attention and joking back that 'I should take off my shirt more often' and 'free the nip' in response to the internet going crazy.

Since then he's revealed that he's lost 20 pounds and taken to Twitter to talk about the ways he's keeping his waistline down.

Posting on the social media site he's tried to buy for $44 billion, since attempted to back out of buying, and which a court could force him to still buy, Musk said he had been 'fasting periodically' to lose weight.

Saying it made him 'feel healthier', the 51-year-old tech boss said the move had come as a result of a friend's suggestion.

Lots of people wanted to know what sort of impact fasting had made on Musk's waistline, with the Tesla boss confirming he'd lost 20 pounds compared to his 'peak weight' and even found time for a little bit of bragging.

Others on Twitter asked Musk if he did much exercise, and one person asked Musk if he was working out accompanied by a terrifying set of images of Dwayne Johnson with Musk's face superimposed on.

As for what else he's up to these days, Musk is preparing for his upcoming court case with Twitter where he'll find out if he has to go through with the $44 billion takeover of the social media giant.

He no longer wants to complete the multi-billion dollar buyout, but depending on how the legal side of things goes he might end up with the world's biggest case of buyer's remorse.

Musk has also recently taken some potshots at the Large Hadron Collider, AKA the giant science machine in Switzerland which smashes protons together.

The Tesla boss called it 'demonic technology', sticking an evil looking meme on Twitter asking to be allowed to use the LHC.

Whether he was being serious or not we have absolutely no idea, when it comes to Twitter he's put some really weird stuff on the site over the years.
