What better gift for your loved ones, and most importantly you, than a pill to neutralise the stench of Brussels sprout-fuelled farts at Christmas?
One eccentric French inventor really got to the heart of the issues that matter when he began creating the Father Christmas wind breaker tablet.
Christian Poincheval is his name, and fragrant flatulence is his game.
The Frenchman successfully found a pill that makes your farts smell like chocolate, or roses, or violets.

The 65-year-old Father Christmas lookalike who resides in the rural hills of northwest France seems like a character created by Lewis Carroll and Roald Dahl.
For just under £17, you can let rip without worry for your family and friends because they will only be met with a pleasant aroma.
After six years of strenuous flatulence research Poincheval made the breakthrough ‘Pilule Pet’ (fart pill in French).

Speaking to the Verge, Christian said:
I wanted to undress the shame you feel when you fart at the table, the fear you feel that the fart may travel farther. I wanted to remove this complex, if you will.
At their core, they provoke discussions, debate and try to liberate the fart, which is something totally natural.
Poincheval told the Telegraph how the idea originated after a meal with friends:
Our farts were so smelly we were nearly suffocated. Something had to be done.
I have all sorts of customers. Some buy them because they have problems with flatulence and some buy them as a joke to send to their friends. Christmas always see a surge in sales.
The pills, which come in a jar of 60, are made of 100 per cent natural ingredients like fennel, seaweed, and blueberries.
He sells them under the mascot of the Lutin Malin (Clever Goblin), with an image of him sitting on a leaf making an ‘aha’ expression.
Other products listed on the Pilule Pet website include rose-perfumed fart pills as well as powder to get rid of dog whiffs.
Apparently Poincheval has a growing number of British clients who couldn’t help but purchase his products online as a polite gesture to those around them.
As well as creating the revolutionary odour eliminators, Poincheval plays and records music, maintains his own radio show, and started a free local newspaper called L’Aggressif.
The inventor’s first creation was a newspaper in the form of toilet roll so that each sheet had a different news article on.
So his specialty seems to reside mainly within or near the toilet bowl.
During a 15-day period in December last year, Christian filled more than 2000 orders, mostly to America.
Most of these were one time buyers for Christmas joke gifts or pranks, but there are actually repeat customers who find the pills very effective.
It’s not clear how many nice smelling farts you get per tablet, but it seems like good value for money.
The perfect stocking filler?
You better get them while they’re hot because Christian is currently offering free shopping if you order three or more jars.
This guy has done a lot of random things in his life, you could say he goes wherever the wind takes him.
