Finland Plans To Scrap Benefits And Give Everyone 800 Euros Per Month

Finland’s government are planning on scrapping the benefit system entirely.

They will offer each citizen 800 euros per month, which translates as £576, and it will be used to support each person regardless of if they work or not.

According to a recent poll, 69% of citizens agreed with the idea.

The idea is based around the concept that people who work should not be worse off than those who are on benefits and state hand-outs – which can be the case, and has often been an issue in the UK.

The ‘basic income’ plan will simplify the social security system according to the Prime Minister, with the final decision on the proposal set to be made in November 2016.
