Former TV Star Jailed After Drink-Driving To Own Hen Party

Former teenage television star Emily Corrie has been jailed for 12 months for drink-driving on the way to her own hen party.

Corrie, who was almost five times over the drink-drive limit when she careered onto the hard shoulder, played Sooz in the Channel 4 series As If, and had roles in Casualty, Doctors and NY-Lon before leaving acting to join the Royal Navy. She was also the inspiration for the McFly song 5 Colours in Her Hair.

Prosecutor Daniel Sawyer told Portsmouth Crown Court that the first witness on the scene was a trained first aider and having seen the defendant, got out to see if she was ok. The witness said, “I could smell alcohol, she couldn’t keep her head up as she tried to put the car in gear.”

After officers had arrived on the scene Corrie asked, “will I be out in time for my hen do?” before falling asleep in the back of the patrol car.
