Ubisoft have released a new live-action trailer for their upcoming open world sneak-and-shootathon Ghost Recon Wildlands.
While live-action trailers for video games are usually terribly tricky to get right (I still have nightmares about an old Zelda ad), I’m happy to report that Ubisoft have nailed this particular effort.
Called simply ‘The Red Dot’, the intense trailer does a fantastic job of selling the atmosphere of Ghost Recon Wildlands – plus, anything that involves a cat is a winner in my book.
Wildlands stars a team of soldiers who head (sneakily) into Bolivia to eliminate the Santa Blanca drug cartel and restore order – obviously to do so you need to shoot lots of things.
Developer Ubisoft Paris has described Wildlands as the first military shooter set in a massive open world, where you and up to four friends can work together using a variety of tactics, weapons, and vehicles to get results.
Eric Couzian, Creative Director on Wildlands said:
Our goal has been to build the Ghosts as credible Spec Ops, so players have a range of options in facing not only the deadly cartels, but also the roughness of the multifaceted Bolivian landscape. Ghosts are survivors and hunters, they can blend in all sorts of environments, leaving no trace except in the heads of their terrified enemies. We want players to feel this power.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands is headed to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 7. You can sign up for the beta here, if you just can’t wait till then.
