Donnarumma Shows He’s Better At 17 Than Most Keepers At 27

If you’ve got a keen eye for Italian football, you’ll know the name Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The AC Milan goalkeeper is currently keeping former Real Madrid number one Diego Lopez on the bench, and looks to have a serious future in the game.

Oh, and he’s just turned 17.

Serie A kicked off this weekend, and Donnarumma enhanced his reputation with a stunning penalty save in the dying seconds, as Milan held on for a 3-2 win over Torino.

Check it out:

I can’t remember what I was doing at 17, but it probably included some highly questionable driving, and a particular fondness of Woodpecker cider. Thinking about it, not much has changed.

Donnarumma looks to be Milan’s first choice goalkeeper this year, and considering he’s 6’5″, Italian, and obviously talented, comparisons to the great Gigi Buffon are flying around.

Penalty saves like this aren’t going to harm his chances of becoming the latest in a long line of great Azzurri keepers either.
