Gogglebox Star Reveals Details Of Dark Past
One of the most cherished members of the Gogglebox TV show has revealed a dark secret of her time in jail.
Sandra, 54, who has appeared on the Channel 4 show since its first series, told The Sun how she did time in 1984 after being convicted of fraud.
The larger-than-life character from Brixton usually graces the sofa with best friend Sandi, and is known for her bellowing cackle and for drinking tropical juice from a Pot Noodle cup.
Sandra said to The Sun:
It was a very long time ago and I deeply regret it. I’ve turned my life around since then and have put this behind me.
After seeing Sandra on TV, a fellow inmate at Drake Hall prison in Staffordshire accused her of bullying her while they were locked up.
The unnamed woman said:
I said to my partner, ‘I know that woman.’
I recognised her straight away. All of the memories from all those years ago came right back.
She was scary from the word go and she made my time at Drake Hall horrific.
In response to the comments, Channel 4 responded by saying ‘we do not comment on the private lives of individuals’.
Sandra ‘strongly refutes any accusations of bullying. It didn’t happen’.
