At least two people have been shot and killed by a gunman at Central Michigan University early Friday morning.

The suspected gunman James Eric Davis Jr, who is still reportedly at large, shot at two non-students killing them. There are no other injuries.

Mount Pleasant Police told Fox News that they are searching for a black man who is considered ‘armed and dangerous’ after he opened fire at Campbell Hall on campus.

The City of Mt. Pleasant wrote on Twitter:

The suspect is a 19-year-old black male who is approx. 5 foot 9 inches tall. He is wearing mustard yellow jeans and a blue hoodie. He may have taken off the blue hoodie. He is considered armed & dangerous. If you see the suspect, do not approach him. Call 911.

Police said they ‘don’t know where he is’, and students were sent emergency alerts at around 9am.

Student news organization CMU SGA urged students to stay indoors, tweeting:

Everyone please stay inside and lock your doors. Do not leave the building you are in or walk around campus

The shooting allegedly happened on the 4th floor of Campbell Hall, a co-ed residence building. Classes are cancelled and students have been told to shelter in place and avoid the area.

Police confirmed that the two people killed were not students and they believe the shooting occurred as a result of a ‘domestic situation’.
