Any good horror villain knows how to adapt and learn, so as to best capture and kill/maim its victims.
Obviously, a horror game where the AI can do just that would be fantastic idea – so it’s a good thing that Hello Neighbor makes it a reality.

Similar to We Happy Few, Hello Neighbor is a brightly coloured game with a friendly art style. But of course, there’s something sinister going on just beneath the surface.
You’ll take on the role of a bit of a nosy nuisance in a typical suburban neighborhood. Your job is to mess with your neighbor by sneaking into his house and snooping, but if he catches you, he goes a little OTT.
The AI neighbor will react to your patterns, learn from your mistakes, and work out the most efficient way to hunt you down – it sounds pretty fucking terrifying.
Take a look at the announcement trailer below.
Really enjoying climbing through that backyard window? Expect a bear trap there. Sneaking through the front door? There’ll be cameras there soon. Trying to escape? The Neighbor will find a shortcut and catch you.
Unfortunately, Hello Neighbor won’t be with us until September 2017, but you can sign up for the alpha here.
