Genius Inventor Creates Vacuum That Sucks Up And Sorts Lego By Size

Someone has created a Lego sorting vacuum cleaner, that’ll collect up the plastic bricks and arrange them by size. What a time to be alive. 

Matty Benedetto, who hosts the YouTube channel Unnecessary Inventions is well and truly living up to the channel’s moniker with his latest device. 

Having previously created Lego Socks - that allow you to walk across Lego completely pain-free - he’s now moved on to a specially designed vacuum cleaner that will organise your Lego collection for you. 

In his video, Benedetto says he was inspired after watching an episode of The Office in which David Wallace reveals his idea for a vacuum cleaner that ‘teaches kids how to pick up their own toys’. 

Showing off how he made his own version, Benedetto started off with a Shop-Vac and then designed his 3D printed four canister insert that filters the bricks by size as they are vacuumed up - clever, eh? 

He even uses a see-through plastic so you can watch sorting happen right in front of your eyes. 

Benedetto ends his clip with a demonstration of how it works - and, fair play, while it might be ‘unnecessary’, it certainly does what he set out to do. 

Benedetto tells the camera: “I gotta say, I am thoroughly impressed with how well that works.” Yep, me too. 

And it’s not just me and its creator that’s impressed with the Lego Suck It - in fact, a bunch of his followers even expressed an interest in buying one.

Posting in the comments, one fan wrote: “This is probably one of the most useful ones yet. Literally throw your bin of Lego across the floor and go over it with this.”

Another said: “I would honestly buy this. My son's room is a landmine of Legos.”

While someone else commented: “Lego should contact him to make this an actual sellable product. 

“I'm sure there's tons of people who would love this. From parents/caregivers who want to quickly pick up the kids' Legos. 

“To adults who want their Legos quickly sorted so they can get started on their new masterpiece of complexity.”

A fourth said: “You know, this is probably one of the most useful things you've ever made man. Enjoy the money rolling in.”
