James Corden is a man who seems to divide public opinion in the UK – you either love him or you hate him – but that doesn’t seem to be the case in the U.S, where viewers have really taken to the British comedian.

Now, it looks like Corden is staying put in the U.S after landing a two year extension on his stateside chat show.

The 36-year-old only started fronting The Late Late Show at the end of March, but with audiences topping a million, CBS have offered the host a further £3 million ($4.5m) to stay on with the programme.

The new contract locks him in with the network until 2020, and Corden is also cutting a deal to stream whole episodes on Youtube and post extra interviews with major U.S. YouTube stars, following the incredible popularity of clips from The Late, Late Show posted on the video sharing website.

Corden has been a massive hit with viewers on The Late, Late Show, with his hilarious features and sketches with his celebrity guests such as Carpool Karaoke and playing dodgeball with One Direction going down a treat.

A-list guests on the show to date have included Tom Hanks, David Beckham, Mila Kunis, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber and Rod Stewart.
