Johnny Depp’s Security Guard Shares Intimate Details Of Honeymoon With Amber Heard During Trial

Johnny Depp's security guard has revealed details of his boss and Heard's honeymoon amid the pair's defamation trial.

Johnny Depp's security guard has revealed details of his boss and Amber Heard's honeymoon amid the pair's defamation trial.

The trial – which first began on 11 April – has so far seen a doctor, forensic psychiatrist, marriage counsellor, various friends and multiple others take to the stand to give evidence, after Depp filed a $50 million lawsuit against his ex-wife in response to an op-ed piece she wrote in 2018 for The Washington Post in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.

Malcolm Connelly, who worked as a security guard for Depp and his ex-partner Vanessa Paradis, has since testified via video link, giving his view on Depp and Heard's relationship and recalling their honeymoon.

On Heard and Depp's honeymoon on the Orient Express from Bangkok to Singapore Connelly took a photograph of the pair.

The image was shown in court.

The security guard reflected how Depp was 'not happy' and pointed out swelling under one of the Pirates of the Caribbean's eyes.

"He's walk into a door, or a door's walked into him," the security guard said.

Connelly said he first met Heard before she and Depp were together in 2010, when she was promoting Drive Angry.

The security guard reflected that Heard was 'pleasant' during his time protecting her.

He didn't see her again until she starred alongside Depp in The Rum Diary.

According to Connelly, Heard and Depp's relationship started off 'lovey-dovey'.

Heard was described by the security guard as being 'lovely [and] charming... like she usually is'.

However, during and after the honeymoon, Connelly explained Heard became more 'demanding' and 'feisty'.

"I could see that Amber wanted to wear the pants in the relationship, that was quite obvious. [...] [She could] get frosty at the drop of a hat," he said.

Connelly – who was trained in the UK prison service to notice evidence of physical assault – testified that throughout Depp and Heard's relationship he began to see scratches or bruising on Depp's face.

"[It] started off with a scratch once in a while but it got more," he said.

The security guard detailed various incidents of Heard having thrown items such as a lighter or can towards Depp.

He noted how Depp – in order to show he didn't have anything in his hands to retaliate – would often lift his hands up.

Reflecting on the 2015 incident in Australia that saw Depp sever the top of his finger, Connelly detailed the 'chao[tic]' scene he found.

The security guard explained how there was 'screaming and shouting' and Depp was 'nursing one hand'.

He reflected how 'crazy' and 'fierce' Heard yelled at her ex-husband to 'f**k off, you f***ing coward'.

However, the court also heard a recording of Depp yelling at Heard, to which the security guard confirmed the actor had also been angry.

Connelly admitted to being 'loyal' to Depp, but noted he would 'be loyal to [Heard's lawyers] if [he] was working for [them]'.

Connelly testified he never saw Heard with any injuries.
