Jon Venables Gives Shocking ‘Excuse’ For Killing James Bulger
For a crime which is still remembered painfully by countless people across the country, Jon Venables, along with accomplice Robert Thompson were arrested for the murder of James Bulger.
Their crime shocked a nation as aged just 10-years-old, they abducted two-year-old James from a shopping centre in Bootle, before torturing and killing him.
It’s now been revealed Venables has claimed he was possessed by the devil when he was younger, according to the Daily Star.
It’s thought he made the revelation to prison guards while he was waiting to be sentenced for possessing more than 1,000 images of child pornography.
Speaking to the Daily Star last week, one ‘source’ said:
Venables is regarded as a complete weirdo, even amongst other prisoners, who do not know his real identity.
He has claimed he was possessed by a demon or the devil when he was a boy and was the reason why he killed Jamie Bulger.
He also said his memory of the killing is fragmented and he can only recall it as someone who witnessed the killing rather than an active participant.
But it’s all an act. He’s very manipulative, even amongst other prisoners who have no idea who he is.
Venables was jailed again recently for 40 months after pleading guilty to four counts – including owning 392 category A images, 148 category B and 630 category C pictures.
Speaking about his crimes, Bulger’s mother, Denise Fergus, claimed:
Venables has now proved beyond any doubt what a vile, perverted psychopath he has always been.
It’s thought the 35-year-old is currently on suicide watch in prison.
February 12, 2018 will mark 25 years since the death of James Bulger.
Our thoughts are with his family.
