Katie Price had to leave the set of Loose Women after breaking down live on air this afternoon.
She appeared on the ITV show to speak about how the late Keith Chegwin had contacted her to try and help her mum, Amy, who suffers from the same terminal lung condition he did.
Speaking on the show, Katie said the death of TV legend ‘Cheggers’ had made the reality of her mum’s illness ‘hit home’.
Here’s what she said on the show:

IPA [idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis] isn’t well known and there should be more awareness because once you’re diagnosed, it’s too late. It’s an incurable lung disease – no one knows how you get it. Hang on.
Fellow Loose Women presenter, Janet Street Porter, asked: ‘Your mum was on the show to talk about it, wasn’t she?’
And Katie added:
Yeah but it didn’t really hit me then.
Keith got in touch and we’d been speaking to him a lot and he was trying to help my mum. I knew all along about Keith but I never said it to anyone and I can’t believe that within six months he’s gone.
Katie, who held her head in her hands as she struggled to hold back the tears said:
The thing is my mum is going to die, I just don’t want her to die.
Katie then apologised, admitting she ‘shouldn’t have done the show’.
Janet reassured her:
You came on the show because you wanted people to understand that if they have a cough, it can be quite serious because your mum had a cough for a long time, didn’t she?
Yeah my mum had a cough for about five years, they thought it was asthma, then a few months ago she had a cold…How can my mum die?
It might be my last Christmas with her.
She’s so healthy, never smoked, she works out all the time…I just want to raise awareness and I said I’d do the London marathon.
But the thing is I couldn’t see her for a few weeks and she didn’t understand why and I just said because I can’t bear seeing you knowing I’m not going to see you grow old.
You won’t see Harvey’s 18th birthday, all the kids… How can my mum die? I love my mum so much… I can’t do this, can I go?
Thank you for all the love for @KatiePrice today. She wanted to pay tribute to her friend @keithchegwin and raise awareness for lung disease but it's obviously an upsetting subject with her mum Amy's illness. We are looking after her. https://t.co/gTVVzbWpa8

Host Ruth Langsford then walked Katie off the set of the show.
Speaking after an ad break, Ruth told the viewers:
She wanted to come on today and talk about Keith’s condition and raise awareness.
Unfortunately as you saw she couldn’t cope talking about her mum so she’s gone off and we’ve got her a cup of tea and we are going to continue the show without her.
Keith Chegwin died yesterday, aged 60, following a battle with the disease.
He is survived by his wife Maria Anne Chegwin and his two children.
The family released a statement, which read:
We are heartbroken to share the news that Keith Chegwin sadly passed away following a long-term battle with a progressive lung condition, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which rapidly worsened towards the end of this year.
Keith died peacefully at home shortly after midnight on the 11th of December. His wife Maria, his daughter Rose and his son Ted were by his side.
Sending lots of love to Katie Price and her mum, nobody should have to go through this.
