Body found in search for missing teenager Kiely Rodni by YouTube search and rescue team

Volunteer group Adventures With Purpose claim they've found a body under 14 feet of water

A body has been found in the search for missing teenager Kiely Rodni by a YouTube search and rescue team.

The 16-year-old went missing on 6 August and was last seen at a party beside the lake in the Golden State’s Tahoe National Forest.

Volunteer group 'Adventures With Purpose' now claim that have found her body, however, police are yet to confirm the identity.

Taking to social media, the YouTube group wrote: "WE JUST FOUND KIELY RODNI...

.

"Car is upside down in only 14' of water.

"We have CONFIRMED Kiely is inside.

"Family Notified. Law Enforcement on their way.

"We will be on scene the rest of the day, will have a live stream tomorrow, and will make an announcement as to what time later this afternoon.

"Thank you everyone for your support and donations in getting us here to help Kiely and her family."

The sheriff’s offices said: "The identity of the decedent has not been confirmed. This is a developing situation and we will provide updates when we can."

A spokesman for the family said: "At this time, the family has no statement on the social media rumours from this afternoon.

"If and when law enforcement has a response, we will proceed accordingly."

Kiely’s mother, Lindsey Nieman-Rodni explained to ABC: "I told her to be safe and that I loved her.

"And she said, ‘OK, mom, I love you, too.’

"She never came home."

Kiely’s mother also told The Independent: "There was this classic car show in Reno – she’s so dynamic she loves everything from playing the violin to car shows – and so she was maybe going to see some drag races with us there."

She added: "Later that day, Kaily then texted saying she was going to go to a party instead of going to the car show.

"She’d been to the car show already and there was this party in Prosser."

Kiely’s boyfriend, Jagger Westfall, says he'd been texting with Kiely before she went to the party and told her: “Be safe. Don’t like, do anything stupid.”

“We do not have any new leads, and that I can tell you is very frustrating for us,” Josh Barnhart of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said.
