Killer Clown Epidemic To Get Its Own ‘Blair Witch’ Style Movie

Remember last year when virgins across the globe dressed up as clowns and slouched around rural towns to scare children? They’ve gone and got their own horror film!

Well not them, but actors portraying them – on cameras a bit more high-tech than the iPhones that originally caught them.

Behind the Sightings follows the adventures of Todd and Jessica, a young married couple who set out to film a documentary on the killer clown craze only to fall victim to, you guessed it, a killer clown.

It sounds and looks very Blair Witch, but every horror film since 1999 has done, so it’s fair game. This trailer still promises a lot (if you cast aside the POV ‘here we are!/this is it!’ car shot).

Executive producer Tommy Vlahopoulos said in March:

Clowns have traditionally been associated with slapstick style performance, comedy or mime, but there has always been a dark side to a clown. This is not fake news. Behind the Sightings is centered around the terrifying clown sightings that shook the world last year, and an eager couple swept up in all the phenomenon. This is a very newsworthy subject, especially with all the continuous clown sightings.

Behind the Sightings hits cinemas October 2017.
