Kim Jong-un has sent The Queen a congratulatory letter to mark her Platinum Jubilee.
The North Korean dictator’s private letter marked Her Royal Highness’ 70th year on the throne, however its exact contents have not been revealed.
While Buckingham Palace confirmed that the monarch had received a letter from Jong-un, no further details were revealed.
"The private message from Kim Jong Un to Her Majesty The Queen to mark her Platinum Jubilee is in line with standard practice of receiving messages from countries with whom we have diplomatic relations," a spokesperson for the Palace told The Mirror.

The paper also notes that last year, the Queen sent Jong-un a message to mark North Korea’s National Day, which commemorates the country’s liberation from 35 years of colonial rule by Japan.
The Queen’s message read: "As the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea celebrate their National Day, I send my good wishes for the future."
Jong-un wasn’t the only head of state to congratulate the Queen, with both Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron sending the monarch their well wishes.
Biden said in a video message: “On behalf of the United States, congratulations to Queen Elizabeth II on an unprecedented 70 years of service to the UK and Commonwealth and thank you for your friendship to the American people."

Echoing the US president’s sentiments, Macron said: “We are grateful for your courage and we share the respect and love that British people and Commonwealth have always shown you.”
He added: “Through these transformations, your devotion to our alliance and to our friendship has remained, and has helped build the trust that brought freedom and prosperity to our continent.”
The French president also gifted the Queen a cavalry horse named Fabulous.

Meanwhile, former president Barack Obama praised Her Majesty for her ‘grace and generosity’, adding: “May the light of your crown continue to reign supreme.”
Elsewhere, Pope Francis’ message read: "On the joyful occasion of Your Majesty's birthday, and as you celebrate this Platinum Jubilee year, I send cordial greetings and good wishes, together with the renewed assurance of my prayers that Almighty God will bestow on you, the members of the Royal family and all the people of the nation blessings of unity, prosperity and peace."
The official Platinum Jubilee celebrations kicked off yesterday (2 June) with the Trooping the Colour; a march which takes place annually for the Queen's birthday.
Today (3 June) a national service of thanksgiving will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral, however the Queen herself won’t be in attendance as she experienced ‘some discomfort’ during Thursday’s celebrations.
