Londoners “Walk Together” In Memory Of The Victims Of The 7/7 Bombings

Today, on the ten year anniversary of the London bombings, thousands of people in the UK capital made a defiant display in memory of the 52 people killed in the attacks.

On July 7, 2005 Londoners had to walk home after four deadly bombs on the London Underground brought the city to a standstill and, this morning, commuters walked again to remember that terrible day.

Those travelling on public transport across London and the rest of the UK today stepped off the train, Tube and bus one stop early to walk the remainder of their journey.

The walk, supported by several organisations including Amnesty International, Hope Not Hate, and the Islamic Society of Britain, urged people to get involved with the walk, using the #walktogether hashtag to share their journey.

And thousands did just that, sharing tweets and photos of their journeys and experiences, as they walked together a decade on…
