Luke Perry’s Ashes Scattered On His Beloved Farm
90210 star Luke Perry had his ashes scattered on the actor’s beloved Tennessee farm.
The 52-year-old tragically died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, California on March 4, five days after suffering a massive stroke.
His representative Arnold Robinson explained Perry was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, as well as fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer, and his mother, step-father, ex-wife, brother and sister.
According to TMZ, the Riverdale actor was cremated and his ashes were scattered on his 380 acre farm in the town of Vanleer, TN, roughly 50 miles west of Nashville.
Perry developed an interest in cattle raising and decided to purchase the farm in the mid 90s after starring in the 1994 movie 8 Seconds, where he played a young rodeo star. He lived there on and off ever since.
The Tennessean reports Perry mostly kept a low-profile while spending time at the rural property, aside from some fundraising and volunteer work.
A private ceremony for friends and family is expected to be held for the actor in the coming weeks.
Perry rose to fame starring as Dylan McKay in the hit teenage drama Beverly Hills, 90210, which aired from 1990 to 2000.
More recently he played Fred Andrews in CW’s Riverdale, and he is set to appear posthumously in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Following the 52-year-old’s death, Riverdale creators announced they would be dedicating every new episode to the former cast member.
Creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced the news in an Instagram post ahead of a recent episode, writing:
Going through pictures on my way to set. From the early days. With Luke in the middle. Our heart, always.
Tonight’s episode of #Riverdale finds Fred doing what he does best–helping Archie. It is dedicated to Luke, as all episodes will be for the rest of our run.
Perry’s co-star Jason Priestley paid tribute to the actor in a heartfelt message posted on social media, where he spoke about how special his friend was.
It’s taken me a couple of days to figure out how to write this… My dear friend of 29 years, Luke Perry, was one of those truly special people who really cared…
Luke was not only a star, he was an incredibly bright light that was extinguished far too soon… and that is why I, and so many others, are in so much pain today…
The post continued:
If you had the good fortune to know Luke, or to have ever crossed his path, I know you are sad today as well… the candle that burns twice as bright only burns for half as long… you burned oh, so brightly Luke…
Goodnight Sweet Prince.
Perry will be missed by many; may he rest in peace.
