Emergency services are there for people who have, well an emergency, but sadly for some people, they don’t seem to be able to know the difference between needing to call 999 and needed to get a grip.

That became abundantly clear after one drunken idiot in Manchester called police at around 4am, after claiming that staff had given him the wrong change from a £10 note, thinking he had only given them a fiver after paying for his kebab.

I mean lets be honest about this, even if he had actually been short changed, calling the emergency services because of that is going TOO FAR. Far too far.

Manchester residents being Manchester residents didn’t stop there. Oh no.

There was another emergency call on the same night, coming from a guy who couldn’t get his umbrella back from a cloakroom.

My God.

Obviously the police were not exactly thrilled about this, claiming:

This pair have taken up police call handlers’ time and potentially stopped someone with a genuine emergency from getting through.

Please think before you dial 999. If it’s not a genuine emergency contact police on 101.
