Man Caught On CCTV Drowning Three-Year-Old Stepdaughter

Warning: Graphic and disturbing images

A man has been jailed for 100 years after horrifying footage showed him repeatedly throwing his three-year-old stepdaughter into a swimming pool before leaving her to drown.

The incident caused outrage after the CCTV footage was made public and showed the man tossing the child, who struggled to stay afloat, into the water.

The incident took place while the child’s mother was sleeping in a hotel room, and the stepfather, known only as Jose David N, pleaded surprise after being told that the youngster had drowned, The Mirror reports.

But the CCTV footage, which was shot at a hotel swimming pool in Morelia, Mexico in August 2015, was enough to convict the killer – despite his protests of innocence.

While reading out the sentence, the judge also slammed the stepdad for using the child’s hair to hold her towards the deep end of the pool.

The defence had tried to suggest that the three-year-old had died outside the pool and not in the water, but this was rejected by the judges.
