Man Swims Under Frozen Lake In Stressful Footage

Boris Oravec, 'a four-time world champion in ball hockey' and 'crossfit athlete', appeared disorientated during the stressful swim under ice

If you've ever felt compelled to take a chilly dip in an icy lake, footage of one guy getting lost under the frozen surface is sure to change your mind.

As someone who's always cold, the thought of willingly plunging myself into a lake covered in ice is not one that's ever crossed my mind. Evidently, though, the same can't be said for Boris Oravec, who describes himself as a four-time world champion in ball hockey, a crossfit athlete and a Red Bull Ice Cross Athlete.

Last month, Oravec took himself out to the midst of a frozen lake and sunk into a purpose-made hole in the surface before beginning his journey under the ice. Things appeared to start out well, but it didn't take long for them to get stressful.

See what happened below:

Footage of Oravec was reviewed on the TikTok channel 'Ozzy Man Reviews', with the narrator voicing the anxiety caused by the clip. After successfully making it most of the way towards another hole in the ice, Oravec appears to become disorientated and begins to turn around, prompting those on the surface to panic about getting him out.

Onlookers attempt to guide the swimmer by banging on the ice, but Oravec continues to struggle and search for his exit point.

One man on the ice falls over as the team desperately try to free Oravec, though the narrator of the clip points out the swimmer himself doesn't appear to be too concerned about the fact he can't come up for air.

Instead, he seems to calmly navigate his way to a rope that was in place under the ice and used it to lead himself back towards the hole he started at, before pulling himself out of the water and taking a seat at the edge of the hole.

Though the ordeal thankfully had a happy ending, the narrator stressed that taking a swim under ice is not something viewers should try 'at home, or in public, or anywhere', and the same video on Oravec's own account warns that 'participating in this activity could result in you or others getting hurt'.

Viewers have described the clip as 'too stressful to watch', with one writing: 'Literally never been more stressed out watching a TikTok.'

Though social media users were left breathless simply by watching the video, Oravec didn't appear to be put off by the situation as he has since posted a number of other videos of himself on the ice.
