Manchester United fans will be able to exchange shirts with Mason Greenwood's name on them free of charge, after the footballer was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault.
The allegations against Greenwood first emerged on Sunday, January 30, when footage, photos and a voice note allegedly between Greenwood and the victim were posted online, however they've since been deleted.
Greater Manchester Police then arrested the 20-year-old, saying they 'became aware of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence', before further arresting him on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill. He's since been released on bail while police to carry out further enquiries.
The club has removed all merchandise related to the player from their website, and after fans started returning their shorts sporting Greenwood's name to the Old Trafford megastore, it's now been confirmed that players will be able to exchange their shirts for free. TeamViewer, who sponsors the club, said it was 'closely monitoring developments'.

Greenwood has also been suspended from playing or training with Manchester United 'until further notice' in light of the allegation, with the club insisting its 'strong condemnation of violence of any kind' but refusing to comment further until 'facts have been established'.

Cadbury, an official partner of Manchester United, won't feature the player on any of its products. He's also been removed from certain parts of FIFA 22, and Nike suspended its sponsorship deal with the player following his arrest. 'Mason Greenwood has been removed from active squads in FIFA 22 and has also been suspended from appearing in FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) packs and Ultimate Draft,' an EA spokesperson said.
'We have suspended our relationship with Mason Greenwood. We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation,' a Nike spokesperson also said.
Yesterday, February 2, police confirmed they'd been granted an extension to further question the footballer, but he's now been released pending a full investigation.

While the original social media posts have since been deleted, police also urged users to 'avoid any commentary or sharing of images that could compromise the victim's right to lifelong anonymity, or risk prejudicing a live investigation with active proceedings', and that 'the victim is being offered specialist support'.
