Marlon Wayans says he was 'targeted' after being kicked off United Airlines flight

The White Chicks star was also cited by police during the incident

Marlon Wayans has claimed that he felt 'targeted' after he was kicked off a United Airlines flight.

The comedian and actor took to social media to complain after he was reportedly booted off the plane, as well as being cited by the police.

He claimed that the airline had asked him to switch his three hand luggage bags into two bags in line with the airline's policy.

I mean, we'e all been there with those hand luggage measurers on airlines.

Wayans claimed that he was then asked to check in one of his bags despite complying the airline's request. There was allegedly then a heated exchange with staff, after which the comedian was cited by the Denver Police Department.

A furious Wayans slammed the staff member as 'rude and wrong', saying in an Instagram post: “I don’t know what kind of corporate culture there is: your customers are always right.”

He also reportedly received a call from customer service which defended the staff member.

The White Chicks star said: “I’m willing to play that video back, put the sound on. This man was wrong and I was targeted. Period.”

The call from customer service sadly only served to further enflame the situation, with Wayans adding: “@united gotta do better. Don’t call me and defend an employee for targeting me. This incident needs to be remedied. I ain’t resting until i am compensated correctly for this severe inconvenience. Bro a liar.”

Wayans was subsequently able to complete his journey on an American Airlines flight.

He said: “Fly where you’re respected, protected and loved … No more @united for me. Y’all treated a first class brother real disrespectful ”

United Airlines has claimed that Wayans had tried to 'push past' staff and board the aircraft.

In a statement to the New York Post, the airline said: “In Denver on Friday, a customer who had been told he would have to gate-check his bag instead pushed past a United employee at the jet bridge and attempted to board the aircraft. The customer did not fly on United to his destination.”

A statement from Denver Police said: Denver Police responded to a United gate at DIA for a disturbance involving a passenger and a staff member for United. When officers arrived, they contacted all the involved individuals which includes Marlon Wayans.

“Wayans was cited for Disturbing the Peace and released. Since he was cited and released, a booking photo is not available.”

UNILAD has contacted United Airlines for further comment.
