Mass Effect Andromeda Running On PS4 Pro Is Gorgeous

Sony’s PlayStation Meeting was kind of a big deal – but one especially awesome surprise was the appearance of BioWare to give us our best look yet at Mass Effect Andromeda.

The video featured actual gameplay from the hotly anticipated space adventure, along with confirmation that Andromeda would support the newly announced PS4 Pro on launch.

The video – which you can see below – shows our protagonist Ryder exploring some kind of cavernous ancient ruin while he and his buddies discuss what they’re coming across.

We also get a look at the jetpack in action, as well as a map of possible vaults (portals to other worlds, apparently).

Ryder and co only get a brief look at the map before they’re chased off by some manner of alien drone, and the demo ends.

While that might be precious little info for now, a recent PlayStation Access video revealed the interesting tidbit that the two main characters are actually brother and sister – the plot thickens.

BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn has also released a brief Mass Effect Andromeda developer diary, in which Flynn himself discusses how the studio is using the Frostbite engine to get the most from the PS4 Pro.

In the video diary, Flynn revealed that they’ll be using N7 Day (November 7) to ‘officially open the doors to the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe’ by releasing a brand new trailer.

You can see the video diary for yourself just below.

Mass Effect Andromeda is a fresh start for the franchise (but not a reboot) and should be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2017.
