Michael Jackson’s Son Makes Surprising Revelation About His Father’s Fame

To anyone else, Michael Jackson was a superstar. But to his kids, he was just ‘dad’.

Jackson’s son, Prince Michael, had no idea how famous his father was until he saw ‘big muscle-bound dudes fainting’ in the presence of the King of Pop.

“It did take a while,” he admitted to ABC News. “Even after we realised he was the King of Pop, even to this day, I don’t think it holds the same weight to us as to other people, because he was our dad, or daddy, whatever you want to call him.”

Watch the entire interview in the video below:

As for when, exactly, he realised how important his dad was to the music industry, Prince Michael said:

I guess when we realized it, is when we saw videos of him performing. We were out of the country at the time, and we were watching videos of his performances, and I’d been used to seeing most females pass out when they see their artist — and you know, they get very emotional — but what blew my mind was when I saw these big muscle-bound dudes fainting and having to be dragged out. I was like, ‘OK, there’s something else going on here.’

Prince Michael, now 20, is currently studying at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles where he co-founded Heal Los Angeles, a charitable student organisation’s mission inspired by his father’s Heal The World.

According to Prince Michael, Heal Los Angeles mission is to end child abuse, homelessness and hunger.

Following in his father’s footsteps, philanthropy isn’t the only avenue the 20-year-old is pursuing.

In 2016, he released the first video he produced called Automatic and admitted his dad made the world of music look a lot easier than it is.

He told ABC:

After doing Automatic, I had done some research, which I should’ve probably done before, but I had found out that my dad’s music video ‘Scream’ was actually one of the most expensive music videos to make—adjusted for inflation of course, but I take a lot of inspiration for that as well with the long form of storytelling in music videos because music is an art,” he said. “It’s something that should come from your heart and having an accompanied visual really can tell the story.

Now fully aware of the scope of his father’s greatness, it seems Prince Michael is well on his way to following in the King of Pop’s footsteps.

We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next.
