The man who is in prison for killing schoolgirl Milly Dowler has reportedly now confessed to the murders of mother and daughter Lin and Megan Russell.
Serial killer Levi Bellfield is currently serving life behind bars for the murders of Milly, French student Amelie Delagrange and 19-year-old Marsha McDonnell in southwest London between the years of 2002 to 2004.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murders of Amelie and Marsha in 2008 before being convicted and sentenced again for the killing of Milly in 2011.
Now, he is said to have confessed while behind bars to murders of the Russells, which took place in 1996.
The mother and daughter were killed in the Kent countryside, after which drug addict Michael Stone was twice convicted and sentenced to life in prison for their murders. Stone has always denied the killings, and for the last 15 years his solicitor, Paul Bacon, has been trying to prove his innocence.

Today, February 6, Sky News reports that Bacon has a 'full and frank confession' from Bellfield in which he admits to murdering Lin and Megan, with the lawyer telling the publication that he 'believe[s] what he is saying'.
Bacon said: 'I think if the police were to interview him he would finally admit the murders.'
In the alleged confession, Bellfield is said to recall the night of the murders. Per Sky News, the statement reads: 'I was wearing bright yellow marigold washing-up gloves and holding a hammer in my right hand. In my car I had a screwdriver, a lock knife, a hammer, yellow marigold gloves and a very long black bootlace. My first intention was to just attack Lin, but I quickly changed my mind due to the screams and was worried she would fight back given the children were with her.'
'I approached Lin and held her right arm tight. She asked me not to harm her children. She was calm. Had she screamed I would have attacked her and left not harming the children. The situation just got out of control and the more she complied it just gave me more confidence. I walked all three of them off the track. I forced Lin to sit down,' it continued.

After allegedly receiving the confession, Bacon plans to forward it to the Criminal Case Review Commission (CCRC) and the police and apply for his client's bail if Bellfield is charged.
Stone, who is now 61 years old, has previously had an appeal turned down by the CCRC, but is already considering a second application.
Bellfield will remain behind bars for the rest of his life, serving a whole life sentence for the murders or Dowler, Delagrange, and McDonnell. He was also found guilty of the attempted murder of Kate Sheedy.
