Muslim Woman Silently Protests At Donald Trump Rally, Still Gets Kicked Out
A Muslim woman was ejected from a Donald Trump rally after silently protesting his views on Islam and Syrian migrants.
Rose Hadid, 56, attended a rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina, wearing a hijab and a yellow star – similar to those worn by Jews in Nazi Germany – with ‘Muslim’ written on it.
She was sitting in the stands behind Trump’s podium and stood up when he suggested Syrian refugees were something to do with Isis.
Hadid remained completely silent, while the Republican candidates supporters started chanting his name and pointing at her. But the worst was yet to come, as she was booed out of the event, one person allegedly shouted at her, ‘you have a bomb, you have a bomb’.
Speaking to CNN, she said:
The ugliness really came out fast and that’s really scary. This demonstrates how when you start dehumanizing the other it can turn people into very hateful, ugly people, it needs to be known.
Rock Hill Police Department confirmed Hadid had been escorted away from the event because the campaign team had informed them that ‘anybody who made any kind of disturbance’ should have to leave the event. Hadid was joined by a group of other protestors, with some of them also being escorted out by security.
Trump didn’t seem too bothered by the disturbance, commenting: “There is hatred against us that is unbelievable. It’s their hatred, it’s not our hatred.” No, it’s definitely your hatred Donald.
Before the event, Hadid had said:
I figured that most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim so I figured that I’d give them the opportunity to meet one. I really don’t plan to say anything. I don’t want to be disrespectful but if he says something that I feel needs answering I might — we’ll just see what strikes me.
Trump has caused worldwide controversy for calling for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. and forcing them all to carry special ID cards.
