Developer Funcom has released an in-depth gameplay trailer for brutal survival adventure Conan Exiles, and revealed when Xbox One and PC gamers can expect to get on early access.
This is our first proper look at the game in about six months, and takes us through some of the core elements – exploration, combat, and building.
If you’re intrigued by the prospect of survival in the world of Conan (the barbarian, not the talk show host), PC gamers can jump on board from January 31, 2017.
An Xbox One early access version will make its way to you sometime later, in Spring, but PlayStation 4 – which doesn’t allow early access – will likely only get the game when it’s finished.
Game director Joel Bylos said in a statement:
The open-world survival genre is ripe for Conan’s conquest. If there ever was a world that can truly test your strength and skill, it is the brutal and savage world of Conan the Barbarian. Conan Exiles is not just an empty sandbox, it is a world rich in history where you must discover the secrets of ancient civilizations as you struggle to build your own.

I honestly wasn’t expecting it, but this one looks like a genuinely interesting spin on the survival genre, and definitely a title to watch.
