Resident Evil 7 may be taking the franchise back to a classic, more subtle kind of survival horror, but the latest CG film is proper ‘modern’ Resi – for better or worse.
Resident Evil: Vendetta is a Japanese CG animated movie adaption of Capcom’s long-running horror game series, as opposed to the consistently awful live-action movies.
It’ll be coming sometime in 2017, but for now you can check out a brand new trailer, complete with English dialogue and that trademark ever-so-slightly-over-the-top Resi voice acting.
Vendetta stars franchise mainstays Leon, Chris, a whole lot of zombies, and a ridiculous plot. The film was written by Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass) and directed by Takanori Tsujimoto (Hard Revenge Milly, Ultraman X).
It’ll be coming out in Japan May 27, 2017, with no set date for a Western release just yet.
Meanwhile, in live-action land, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (or so we can hope) arrives on January 27, 2017. next month. It stars Milla Jovovich once again, while Paul W.S. Anderson, returns to direct.
Like its animated brother, expect a whole lot of action, a ton of zombies, and – if possible – an even more ridiculous plot. Check out a trailer for The Final Chapter below.
Resident Evil 7 comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 24, 2017. A recent datamine revealed a ton of spoilers, which you can find out about over here.
