Nicki Minaj has recently shared a photo of herself and her new boyfriend.
However it has now been reported that said new boyfriend, Kenneth Petty, has a history of committing violent crimes, and has previously been handed convictions for attempted rape and manslaughter.
Minaj has been spotted posing for Instagram pictures with 40-year-old Petty; with one recent picture captioned:
Did you ever make it out of that town where nothing ever happens, It’s no secret… that both of us… are running out of time.
As reported by TMZ, Petty served nearly four years in prison for attempted rape.
Officials have reportedly noted the offence was ‘sexual intercourse’, with Petty having used a ‘knife/cutting instrument’.
Both Petty and the victim had been 16-years-old at the time of the attempted rape, which took place in 1994. Petty was convicted in 1995 and remains a registered sex offender within the state of New York.
In March 2006, Petty pled guilty to the charge of manslaughter. He was given a ten year prison sentence, serving seven years.
The Blast report includes court records indicating Petty was released from prison in May 2013, and had been placed on supervised release for five years, up until May 2018.

TMZ have reported Minaj and Petty are reportedly friends from Queens.
