Nigel Farage Is ‘Person Of Interest’ In FBI Investigation Into Trump And Russia

Nigel Farage is currently being ‘investigated’ by the FBI over ties between Russia and Donald Trump.

The former UKIP leader is now a ‘person of interest’ in the US intelligence operation, which is investigating a potential issue between the Kremlin and Trump’s election campaign.

The relationship between ‘individuals’ connected to the president and Julian Assange – the WikiLeaks founder – is something the FBI have decided to investigate further.

At the moment, the politician has not actually been accused of doing anything illegal and a source told The Guardian, he is neither a suspect nor a target, but investigators believe he may have some useful information.

The main issue is the Member of the European Parliament is extremely close to people in the middle of the investigation, surrounding Russia’s alleged involvement with Trump’s presidency.

A source told The Guardian:

One of the things the intelligence investigators have been looking at is points of contact and persons involved.

If you triangulate Russia, WikiLeaks, Assange and Trump associates the person who comes up with the most hits is Nigel Farage.

He’s right in the middle of these relationships. He turns up over and over again. There’s a lot of attention being paid to him.

It also referenced the ex-leader’s relationship with Trump’s political adviser – Roger Stone – who has recently admitted to being in touch with the hacker, Guccifer 2.0, who is thought to be linked to the Kremlin.

However, Farage has been quick to rebuke these claims, with his spokesperson slamming them as ‘verging on the hysterical’ and claiming Farage has never spoken to any Russian officials.

He said:

Nigel has never been to Russia, let alone worked with their authorities.

Interestingly, he made no additional comment as to whether Farage was aware of the FBI investigation into his relationships with officials, nor did he comment on whether he’d brought on a lawyer as a result of these claims.

He made no remark about Farage and Trump’s ‘close relationship’ and refused to comment on him allegedly receiving compensation from RT.

On top of all this – although Farage admits he has met Assange – he claims it was just the ‘once’ and made no comment on how long they had known one another.

The press office for the FBI have declined to comment on the matter.

The investigation into the alleged Russian involvement in Trump’s presidential campaign continues.
