North Korea Troop Movements Show Country Is Preparing For War

North Korea has reportedly moved aircraft to the east coast of the country to strengthen its defence after claiming the US had ‘declared war’.

Pyongyang threatened to ‘shoot down’ any American bombers found flying near the Korean peninsula ‘even when they are not inside the airspace border’, writes The Independent.

This latest move comes after North Korea’s Foreign Minister said Donald Trump declared war on the country during a UN speech.

Ri Yong-ho insisted North Korea reserves the right to take countermeasures in the escalating friction between the two nations, which could include shooting down US strategic bombers – even if they’re not over North Korea.

He even officially told the UN that a missile attack on the US mainland was inevitable after Trump called Kim Jong-un ‘Little Rocket Man’.

Tensions have been escalating rapidly since North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear bomb test on September 3, and they have fired two ballistic missiles over Japan in the past month.

The hostility between the two nations has grown even more over the past week as both Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un traded threats and personal insults against each other.

Now, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency has suggested the North is moving its military aircraft to the east coast in a bid to strengthen its defences, writes the Independent.

Mr Ri said the North’s right to countermeasures included shooting down US bombers and told reporters in New York:

The whole world should clearly remember it was the US who first declared war on our country. The question of who won’t be around much longer will be answered then.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said it was ‘absurd’ to suggest the US had declared war.

When will this end?
