Images have emerged of the awesome moment an off-duty policewoman tackled a pickpocket to the ground.

Officer of 11-years, Mikaela Kellner was sunbathing with friends in a park in Stockholm when a man pretending to sell magazines walked up to them, reports The Mirror.

When the guy refused to take no for an answer, Mikaela sensed something was wrong and when the man walked away they soon noticed he had taken one of their mobile phones with him she told The Local.

It was at this point that Mikaela’s police training kicked in and she took off, sprinting after the thief – wearing nothing but her bikini.

And it’s not hard to see how she managed to take him down!

She said:

There was no time, so I ran after him, maybe 15 metres or so. One of my friends is also a police officer, so we got hold of him. He tried to get away so we held onto him harder.

Uniformed and, on-duty, police soon arrived to arrest the hapless fella however a photo Mikaela’s altercation has now gone viral on Instagram.

She added:

I just acted on instinct and didn’t think about it so much until after we had pinned him down.

When I sat there I looked over at our other two friends who are not police officers and realised that it probably looked pretty funny.

But I would have stepped in no matter my outfit.

Fair enough – it wouldn’t have made for such a strange picture though…
