A mother and father are under investigation by police after a video surfaced of them allegedly using hot sauce as punishment.
The video, which was uploaded to Snapchat, seemingly depicts the father pouring a bottle of what appears to be hot sauce down a child’s pants in order to potty train him – it includes the caption ‘potty training 101’.
The man in the video seems to bring a child over his shoulder and appears to pour a bottle of hot sauce down his pants before smearing it over his face.
The mother has denied that this is indeed the case, but officers have decided to look into the footage, which appeared on Facebook.

Shayna Honeycutt, from Oklahoma, who spotted the footage, told News9:
It needed to be public. It didn’t need to be left in a private Facebook group where no one did or said anything about it.
It’s abuse. You don’t potty train by pouring hot sauce down a baby’s pants and wiping it all over the face.
The clip is sped-up, which apparently skews what actually happened, according to the mother.
The child was supposedly laughing just moments after the recording ended, and she claims none of the hot sauce made contact with her child.
The anonymous mother said:
You can see that nothing went down his pants, and nothing was in his mouth. The video was played out to be something it wasn’t.
My son, I would never put him in harm’s way.
Despite her protestations, the mother has received online death threats, which has caused her to delete her accounts.
Initial reports suggest the child is in a ‘safe home’.
