Some people have been handing out fat-shaming cards on the London Underground.

The group – who call themselves Overweight Haters Ltd. – have been handing out the cards to random passengers on the Tube, with a number of people reporting they’d seen it happen.

According to The Guardian the police have now launched an investigation into the abusive cards, which read:

It’s really not glandular, it’s your gluttony … Our organisation hates and resents fat people. We object to the enormous amount of food resources you consume while half the world starves… We also object that the beautiful pig is used as an insult. You are not a pig. You are a fat, ugly human.

A witness described one of the people handing out the cards as an ‘ordinary-looking middle-aged man’, while another said a hipster was giving them out.

Kara Florish was one of the people targeted by the group, she wrote on Facebook:

I am not upset myself, I am smaller than the national average and not exactly obese, but this is hateful and cowardly and could potentially upset people struggling with confidence and eating disorders.

Please tweet and share this if you are also outraged. Plus, to the person who wrote this card. Go back to school, you can’t spell beautiful.

Steve Burton from Transport for London, said they were treating the incident seriously, saying: “All of our customers have the right to travel with confidence, and this sad and unpleasant form of antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.”

Twitter users took to the site to condemn the people behind the cruel cards:

While some were more sceptical about the whole thing:

And another had some bad news for the people behind Overweight Haters Ltd:
