Pizza delivery driver's genius quick thinking brings a high speed police chase to an end

Social media users have praised a pizza delivery driver for putting himself in a potentially dangerous situation to stop a high-speed police chase.

When you think of a hero, chances are you probably don’t think of a pizza delivery driver.

But Tyler Morell seemingly changed that idea after he stepped in to stop a high-speed police chase that was happening right in front of him.

The Cocco's Pizza delivery driver was out delivering food on April 16 when the customer noticed a high-speed police chase heading in their direction.

The footage was then uploaded to social media by Cocco's Pizza Aston, Pennsylvania, and captures the action from the customer's front doorbell camera.

The caption reads: "Sorry for the inappropriate language, but we thought it was warranted.

"Special shoutout to our delivery driver Tyler, who assisted the Brookhaven police today, and STILL delivered the food unharmed!!"

Morell later told 6 ABC Philadelphia the car must have been doing 75mph before it 'beached on the side of this person's lawn and almost took out a couple of cars'.

After the suspect fled the vehicle - with police delayed slightly behind - Morell explained: "I started walking towards the road, but I couldn't do anything with my hands because I'm holding the pizza, so I just stuck my leg out.

"I am so sick of seeing crime go on, especially half a mile down the road. So if they needed a hand or a foot, I was there."

Pizza? Delivered. Criminal? Caught. All apparently in a day's work for Morell. And customer satisfaction?

The pizza buyer heard in the video named Danielle Yeager reviewed the driver: "10 out of 10 delivery."

It sounds like Morell definitely needs a raise - it's the yeast they can do. And viewers of the footage certainly agree.

One Facebook user wrote: "Tyler well done man.... Pizza and perp delivered in 30 minutes or its on us... What a great video..... What a great job.... Delco pride on this one. Give that guy a raise and put him in for an award."

"This is amazing!! Lol so casually saved the day lol. They need to name a pizza the Tyler special. Something with a little kick to it," another suggested.

A final resolved: "Way to save the day!! That takes delivery to a whole new level, WOW!!"

Indeed, police did note without the pizza delivery driver's quick-thinking, they might not have caught the suspect.

Brookhaven Chief of Police Michael Vice said: "He gave us the help we needed, by tripping him it gave us the time to catch up with the gentleman.

"In this case, this guy ultimately saved the day."

Two suspects were arrested in relation to an alleged stolen Kia from Upper Darby - one being identified by police as 19-year-old Jhonael Gutierrez-Tejada, according to CBS.

The other suspect, who was 17-years-old, was not identified.

Another two bite the crust.
