A former Big Brother contestant and Playboy model has died in tragic circumstances aged just 29.

Rocio Gancedo is believed to have jumped from the balcony of her fifth-floor flat in the Las Canitas area of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.

Rocio had reportedly suffered severe depression following the death of her father and spent a month in a psychiatric clinic earlier this year.

Police have confirmed Rocio died instantly at the scene and her body has been taken to a morgue, where doctors will perform an autopsy as part of a routine inquiry into her death.

Ms Gancedo was most famous in Argentina where she’d competed as a contestant in the local version of Big Brother, back in 2011.

Rocio had also posed for numerous magazines, including Playboy and Hombre.

In 2014, she even ventured into politics when she joined Sergio Massa’s Renewal Front party and in 2016, she revealed she’d found religion.

At the time she said:

I met God and the truth is that it changed me. I saw videos of myself on YouTube and said to myself I cannot be the same girl.

Earlier this year, Ms Gancedo revealed she’d been sexually abused as a child by the daughter of a friend of her mother.

During a public row on social media, she told her mother:

You ruined my childhood, I lost innocence, it was robbed at six years old, when the daughter of your friend abused me, she made me touch her.

People in Argentina have been paying tribute to Ms Gancedo including her friend, ‘Cristian U’, who said ‘his heart cries for the death of his pal’.
