Police Are Searching For A Burglar Spotted In A Blue And Yellow Dinosaur Onesie

Police are searching for a man prowling the streets of a Nashville neighbourhood in a blue and yellow dinosaur onesie, who is believed to be responsible for a number of burglaries.

The man in question was caught on camera as he attempted to break into a house, leading police to issue an appeal for information to help identify the suspect.

In a video shared by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the man can be seen looking through a parked SUV, before emerging from the vehicle with a bag in his hand. After trying the locked door of the house he then walks away, but not before the owner's doorbell camera captured a good glimpse of him.

As well as having donned the half-unzipped blue and yellow onesie (which as he walks away from the camera is revealed to come complete with spikes and a tail,) the would-be robber was wearing a black hat, black gloves and a face mask, which had been pulled down from his face inadvertently giving police a better idea of his appearance.

Oddly enough, the man seems to have noticed the camera as he attempted his break-in, giving it a quick wave on his way to trying the door handle.

The man is alleged to have broken into a car as well as burglarising a house a few streets over in a mini-spree on January 23. Police were alerted to the incidents the morning after, when a woman walking her dog noticed that the garage of her neighours, who were 'out of town' at the time, was open.

A brightly-coloured dinosaur onesie might be a comfortable choice for a long night of staking out potential break-in targets, but it's probably not the best idea when you're trying to go incognito. City police are asking locals to come forward with any information they might have that could help them identify the suspect, who is described as a 'young Black man' about 6 feet tall.

According to the New York Post, local police have been responding to a higher number of similar crimes over the past year, with figures showing that burglaries are up 16% in the city of Nashville, although reports of burglaries in the West Precinct area of the city are down 27% compared with last year.
