Police have arrested twelve suspects in connection with Friday’s horrific terror attack in the Tunisian resort of Sousse.
Officials say security forces are still looking for two men thought to have trained with the gunman, Seifeddine Rezgui, who shot dead 38 people in cold blood.
The suspects arrested were part of a group who were trained in Libya and shared the same goals in Tunisia – to destroy its tourism industry.
It’s also said that this is the same group who attacked the Bardo museum in Tunisia’s capital in March, where 22 people were killed at the hands of two gunmen.
According to Reuters, Lazhar Akremi, minister for parliamentary relations, said:
This is a group who were trained in Libya, and who had the same objective. Two attacked the Bardo and one attacked Sousse. Police are hunting for two more.
Police have also released photos of two suspects, thought to be friends of Rezgui and members of a five-member terror cell. They are wanted in connection to the attack on Friday.
