Check out Prince Harry pulling out all the stops for his nephew, Prince Louis’ christening today, (July 9).

The 11-week-old royal, fifth in line to the throne, is to be baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend and Right Honourable Justin Welby, in the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace.

And boy has he been spoilt! Not by the usual stuff, but with a first edition classic at a hefty price-tag!

You guessed it! Prince Harry has purchased an £8,000 first edition Winnie-the-Pooh for little Louis, who, suffice to say, cannot read yet.

The 1926 edition of the the AA. Milne book – one of an original 30,000 – is understood to have been bought from rare book seller, Peter Harrington in Kensington, London.

A friend told The Sun:

One of Harry’s happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother.

She loved all the classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions.

Touching stuff, it truly is. A great gesture by a great lad.

The christening will mark the first time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children will be seen together as a family of five.

Prince Louis of Cambridge was born on April 23, 2018, at St Mary’s Hospital in London, the same location the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to Charlotte and George.

The news of Kate’s pregnancy was officially announced to the world via Kensington Palace on Monday, September 4, 2017, unusually less than 12 weeks into her pregnancy.

As has been necessary in her previous two pregnancies, the announcement was made earlier than is customary, owing to Kate suffering from extreme morning sickness.

Otherwise known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum, the condition can be extremely debilitating for some women, and caused the Duchess to have to cancel upcoming public engagements.

Prince Louis’ name was revealed to the public on April 27, four days after Kate gave birth at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, which is known for its extreme privacy.

Kensington Place said on their Instagram page at the time:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, taken by The Duchess at Kensington Palace.‬

This image was taken on May 2, on Princess Charlotte’s third birthday.‬ ‪The Duke and Duchess would like to thank members of the public for their kind messages following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday.‬

For the first time in history, the sex of the latest addition to the royal family would not change who’s next in line for the throne.

Thanks to 2013’s Succession to the Crown Act, male heirs, now, do not take precedence over female ones.

After the birth of Prince Louis, Prince Harry has moved down to sixth in line, being bumped from the number five spot.

At the end of the day though, who cares where you are in line when you’ve got a first edition Winnie-the-Pooh from 1926?
