A senior Labour MP has apologised after one of his colleagues accused Prince Philip of cheating on the Queen.
John Woodcock said the accusations made by Emma Dent Coad at a fringe event at their annual conference in Brighton do not represent the views of the Labour party.
Ms Dent Coad, who is the elected MP for the royal family, also incorrectly claimed Prince Harry cannot fly helicopters, The Telegraph reports.
In the extroardinary rant, Ms Dent Coad said:
Harry can’t actually fly a helicopter so they had to make him co-pilot. So he just sits there going ‘vroom vroom’.
The Queen might want to step back when she hasn’t got her (cough, cough) soulmate beside her. He’s been mucking about for years, he’s not been a faithful husband.
The new MP, elected to serve Kensington in June, also claimed that the two princes are ‘not that bright’.

Her shocking remarks sparked an immediate backlash and Mr Woodcock posted on Twitter saying:
I want to make clear that the highly inaccurate statements reportedly made by one of our colleagues, which disparage Prince Harry’s military service, in no way reflect the views of my party.
Woodcock said he was ‘really sorry this has happened’ and that her Royal Highness deserves nothing but praise and respect’.
