Prison Break creator Paul T Scheuring has begun penning the script for season six and has dropped a hint that a major character is returning to the fold as well.
Scheuring teased the return of fan-favourite Mahone, played by William Fichtner.
Speaking to fans on Twitter, he informed his followers he has ‘finished the 601 script’ and there was a ’50-150 percent chance’ Mahone would be making his comeback – much to the delight of Prison Break fans.
If you must know, I finished the 601 script.

Fans of the show have been contemplating the possibility of a new season for quite a while, and the sixth season was confirmed back in January.
So it looks like it’s back, for one season at least. Speaking at a TCA press tour, Fox president Michael Thorn told reporters:
We are developing a new iteration of Prison Break. It’s in very early stages of development, but we’re really excited about it.

According to Digital Spy, both Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows) and Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield) will be returning to the show.
Miller, who currently stars in DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow as Captain Cold will hang up his freeze gun and anorak at some point this season, which also stars Purcell. Presumably, it’s to work on season six of Prison Break.
Miller previously revealed that he's pitched an incredible idea for how the new season could play out where Scofield and Burrows are forced to go back to all the prisons they've broken out of from previous seasons.
Season five, which aired last year, ended with Michael being given full immunity for his crimes while working for dodgy CIA agent Poseidon (Mark Feuerstein). We last left Michael playing happy families with Sara and Mike Jr.
Considering there will be a new season it looks like his days as a family man are about to come to an abrupt end.
