Resident Evil is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and Capcom have no intentions of letting such a milestone go unnoticed.
They’ve got all manner of Birthday hi jinks in the works, starting with a brand new producer interview.
Capcom will be releasing a series of developer interviews, featuring commentary from some of the team members who have played a vital role in developing the survival horror franchise over the years.
The first video is a chat with producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who worked on every core Resident Evil game – except 5.
It’s genuinely interesting and insightful stuff – absolutely worth checking out if you’re a fan of the franchise, or even just of survival horror in general.
Of course, I should point out that here in the UK, Resident Evil wasn’t released until August (it was released in Japan on March 22), but that doesn’t mean we can’t get in on the Birthday fun too.
Check out the first of the producer interviews below.
Capcom have promised that there are plenty more surprises to come through the year.
Personally, I’ll be sat here silently praying for that sweet Resident Evil 7 reveal.

After graduating from the University of Portsmouth in 2015 with a BA in Journalism & Media Studies (thanks for asking), he went on to do some freelance words for various places, including Kotaku, Den of Geek, and TheSixthAxis, before landing a full time gig at UNILAD in 2016.
