Okay, so a videogame having a ‘zombies mode’ might not be a spectacularly new idea in this day and age, but Rise of the Tomb Raider’s new undead effort actually looks pretty great.
Square Enix and Xbox have released a brand new trailer giving us our first look at the Blood Ties chapter, as well as the undead mayhem that comes as part of the upcoming 20 year anniversary celebration edition of Rise of the Tom Raider.
Blood Ties is an entirely new chapter that takes place in Croft Manor. Lara’s uncle is after ownership of the home, so she needs to look around the manor for proof that she’s the rightful heir.
And then we have the slightly more insane Lara’s Nightmare, which sees our fair tomb raider defending the mansion against hordes of crusty zombie scum.
You can check out the trailer for both Blood Ties and Lara’s Nightmare just below.
Both of these extra goodies will be included with Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration edition, which launches on October 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The 20 Year Celebration edition also comes with all previously released DLC, the co-op endurance mode, PlayStation VR support on PS4, and more outfits and costumes.
This is great news for PS4 owners, as what is clearly the definitive version marks the game’s first appearance on a Sony console, following a timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft.
Rise of the Tomb Raider was originally released back in 2015 to some pretty great reviews, so the 20 year edition is well worth picking up if it passed you by first time around.
