Rose McGowan Blasts James Corden For His ‘Sick’ Harvey Weinstein Jokes

Actress Rose McGowan has criticised James Corden after he joked about Harvey Weinstein’s sexual assault allegations.

McGowan, who has been the most outspoken critic of Weinstein after publicly accusing him of raping her, called Corden a ‘motherf***ing piglet’ on Twitter earlier today sharing a clip of Corden’s opening remarks at the annual AmfAR Gala.

Slamming those in the audience, McGowan also said that ‘hearing the audience’s vile roars & laughs show EXACTLY what kind of HOLLYWOOD you really are’.

She also claimed that Corden is a very close friend of Harvey Weinstein and demanded that the TV network CBS, who aired the gala, donate their money to the East Los Angeles Women’s Centre which provides services to those affected by sexual and domestic violence.

McGowan tweeted that if CBS does not donate, then they too ‘support rape culture’.

Corden hosted the Gala last night in Los Angeles and in an attempt to get a reaction from his audience, he may have gone too far.

According to Variety, it certainly did not go down well in the room, contradicting McGowan’s tweet, and many are now taking to social media to criticise the comedian.

Taking to the stage, in his opening routine Corden joked:

This is a beautiful room, it’s a beautiful night here in L.A.

So beautiful, Harvey Weinstein has already asked tonight up to his hotel to give him a massage.

Despite the joke being met with nervous groans from many members of the audience that included the likes of Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, The Late Late Show host did not stop there.

He continued:

It has been weird this week though, watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water. Ask any of the women who watched him take a bath.

Harvey Weinstein wanted to come tonight, but sadly he’ll settle for whatever potted plant is closest.

The jokes come after allegations of decades of sexual harassment surrounding Hollywood producer Weinstein made headlines in a New York Times exposé.

McGowan threw out her non-disclosure agreement on Thursday and alleged that she was raped by Weinstein.

The Charmed actress had been named among the accusers in the New York Times 10-month long investigative piece.

She previously had only indirectly referred to the mogul in relation to the rape and so Thursday was the first time she made the allegation public.

In a thread on Twitter, McGowan also accused the chief of Amazon Studios, Roy Price, of ignoring her when she told him about the allegation earlier.

McGowan wrote:

I told the head of your studio that HW raped me. Over & over I said it. He said it hadn’t been proven. I said I was the proof.

I had already sold a script I wrote to your studio, it was in development. When I heard a Weinstein bailout was in the works.

I forcefully begged studio head to do the right thing. I was ignored. Deal was done. Amazon won a dirty Oscar.

Today it was also reported that UK police are investigating three further sexual assault allegations in London involving the Hollywood producer.
