Former Riverdale actor Ryan Grantham has said he 'regrets' killing his mother as his attorney provided an update on his condition.
Grantham is currently incarcerated in a prison hospital since being convicted of murder in the second degree after shooting and killing his mother, Barbara Waite, while she was playing the piano on 31 March, 2020.
Last year he was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for the first 14 years after pleading guilty to killing his mom.

He practiced killing her several times, filming himself on a GoPro sneaking up on her with a gun and then writing in his diary that he was 'so sorry' after he killed the 64-year-old.
Grantham then covered her body with a sheet, set candles around her and put a rosary on the piano she had been playing before he buying weed and beer and watching Netflix.
He had also been planning on killing Justin Trudeau, loading up his car with weapons, ammunition and a map to the Canadian prime minister's home before changing his mind and deciding to committing a mass shooting at either the Lions Gate Bridge in Vancouver or his university.

However, he instead later handed himself over to the police and confessed to the killing of his mother, with his sister Lisa discovering the body later that same night.
Psychiatric reports judged Grantham mentally fit to stand trial and suggested he had been suffering from clinical depression when he committed the killing.
Since being in prison, the 25-year-old has been seeking psychiatric help, with professional counselling on hand to help him with the grief of killing his mother.
Chris Johnson, an attorney for Grantham, told TMZ that his client was taking his treatment seriously and had developed regrets over what he had done.

He said: "Mr. Grantham recently advised me that he’s doing well, getting the help he needs, and has gained some insight into what happened and why. He regrets what he did to his mother.
"He realizes that he has a lot of personal work to do, but he’s dedicating himself to that, so that he can hopefully be a mentally healthy and contributing member of society at some point in time in the future."
Grantham is currently in the prison hospital while the authorities decide where the 25-year-old will serve the rest of his sentence, as Johnson had previously raised concerns that his client could be abused in prison.
