An influencer who conducted a 'social experiment' by wearing painted-on pants to the gym has hit back at critics online.
Natalie Reynolds posted a viral video after she went to a gym wearing bikini bottoms with jeans painted on with body paint.
The video shows a man at the gym telling her that her attire was inappropriate for the gym and she would have to leave.

He said: "If you don't have clothes on, you need to be out of here, ma'am.
"Not fine, I work in the industry enough to know. I work in the entertainment field."
The video went viral, though more with people criticising Reynolds rather than siding with her.
One person said: "That dude was 100 percent right. He called out your degenerate behaviour and you played the victim."

A second wrote: "I'm sick of these influencers walking around with security guards thinking they can just do whatever they want."
A third posted: "Painted pants aren't real pants."
Now the influencer has responded to the criticism with a further post on Twitter.
She tweeted a still from her video alongside an image of men in a bodybuilding contest.

The tweet included the caption: "So when people wear these outfits it’s all about body positivity but when I’m wearing more then that it’s a problem."
She added: "The gym allowed me inside, allowed me to film and had no issue otherwise they would have kicked me out…"
A community note was also added to the original post, which attempts to offer some further context to the video.
The note reads: "The man in the video is protecting the overall gym etiquette according to which you should wear clothes suitable for exercise.
"Wearing unsuitable clothes or none at all is considered to be disrespectful towards the other. It is also a hygiene risk to others."

The influencer has also made other posts related to the incident in which she spent several hours having the body paint applied for the 'social experiment'.
She previously wrote: "Why everyone acting like I was naked lmao. The amount of women who wear pants up the ass at the gym… This is nothing bad at all."
The influencer had also posted content from a male YouTuber with the caption: "So a guy YouTuber makes a video just like this but when I paint myself everyone is acting like the world is ending.
"Let me get my gains and shredded in peace pls."
