Logan Paul plans to retire from boxing and become full-time WWE star despite breaking strict rule

The YouTube star said there is 'no money in boxing'

Having conquered the world of YouTube and social media, Logan Paul is setting his sights on WWE, after sensationally announcing his retirement from boxing this week.

The YouTube sensation only recently celebrated his first win in the boxing ring, defeating jiu jitsu champion Dillion Danis in October.

But Paul has already brought his short-lived boxing career to an end, admitting that financial worries inspired his decision, telling Fox Business that there's 'no money in boxing'.

He told the news outlet: "I think I'm retired from boxing. I think I've done enough in the sport."

Unexpectedly announcing a turning point in his already impressive career, the 28-year-old sportsman and influencer said: "I'm going to be a wrestler now. No more money in boxing, every company is going broke."

This month, Paul defeated WWE icon Rey Mysterio, bagging himself the United States Championship following the heavyweight grunge fight.

Paul said: "It feels great. It was a dominant performance. Some frog splashes, some punches, it feels good."

Just hours within making his announcement, Paul admitted to breaking what he claims was a very important WWE rule.

In a new video alongside younger brother and fellow YouTuber Jake Paul, Logan claimed he'd had sex while wearing the championship belt, after which he immediately asked Jake to take the comment out of the video.

"I just took a shower with this belt on," Paul can be heard saying. "I ran a 5K earlier with this belt on. This belt never leaves my waist. I f**k in this belt.

"This belt means everything to me... Cut that out, bro. Just because the WWE, they did say that I can’t f**k in the belt.

Speaking to his brother, Logan made an x-rated admission. Tripple H.

"I swear, Triple H, he came up to me, he said, 'Logan, congratulations on the belt [laughs]. One thing we've been really cautious about here in the organisation is making sure our athletes are not f**king in their belts."

He went on to mimick the WWE champ: "'So if you could just refrain from f**king in your belt.' I gave him my word. Next thing I know, I’m clapping cheeks in this f**king 40-pound piece of metal...

"You gotta cut that out. You gotta cut all that out!"

His retirement announcement and not-so-family-friendly admission comes just five years after his first foray into the ring, ultimately bringing his relatively unproven tenure to an end.

He threw himself into the often-brutal and rigorous sport back in August 2018, with his inaugural fight against British social media star and fellow YouTuber, KSI.

Their match initiated the growth of both crossover and celebrity boxing.

Though their rematch saw KSI take home the win following a split decision - with the pair then collaborating to launch their immensely popular PRIME energy drinks.

Paul also fought the ultimate opponent in Floyd Mayweather - who recently retired with an undefeated record, having won 15 major world championships from super featherweight to light middleweight.

That was an exhibition fight and no winner was announced.

Now Paul is setting his sights on WWE, and there's no shortage of challengers.

"I have to defend this belt," he told Fox. "There are going to be people coming after me. Seth Rollins, LA Knight, Cody Rhodes.

"Whoever wants it, they can come get it. Mr. Bad Bunny. Whoever wants it can come get it. I have stuff to do in WWE."
