Tom Brady defends Travis Kelce’s ‘red flag’ behavior at Super Bowl

NFL legend Tom Brady has defended Travis Kelce after his confrontation with his coach at the Super Bowl.

Tom Brady has defended Travis Kelce's much talked about ‘red flag’ behavior at the 2024 Super Bowl.

The latest Super Bowl offering provided quite the treat for NFL fans on Sunday (11 February), as the Kansas City Chiefs were able to do the impossible with a massive comeback win over the San Francisco 49ers in a nail-biting season finale.

And while a lot of the attention has been focused on the field and Usher's iconic halftime show, there is no questioning that Kelce, Taylor Swift's beau, has made the headlines since the Super Bowl concluded.

It was during this rough start that Kelce appeared to lose his cool with his coach Andy Reid, in a clip that has since gone viral.

The Chiefs star was seen screaming in the face of Reid and even bumping the coach before being restrained by teammate Jerrod McKinnon.

A body language expert said the moment suggested 'real anger', describing Kelce's facial expression as 'ugly'.

The interaction led to some Swifties dubbing his behavior as a 'red flag' and even went as far to call for the singer to break up with her partner.

"You don’t get to ape up someone all aggressive like just because you’re frustrated. Taylor, my darling, my dove, my lamb, this is a big red flag," one fan wrote on social media.

"I speak for most of the fanbase when I say Taylor needs to leave this man, he’s assaulting a man for no reason," another added.

Kelce addressed the interaction in his post-game interviews, talking up nothing but praise for his coach.

Now, NFL legend and Super Bowl veteran Brady has come out and spoke in defense of Kelce, saying that 'emotions are so high' in one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

During the season finale of SiriusXM's Let's Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, the former New England Patriots star said: "There's always little family issues and of course I don't mind seeing it 'cause I was a part of a lot of those things.

"Emotions are so high. You are definitely not centered and balanced. You're not in a meditative state at that point.

"You are fully determined to go out there and to win."

He added: "So I think a lot of the things that are said during the games, people should just let them fly off their back.

"And I actually think Coach Reid handled it just awesome, like he always does, 'cause he just said, 'I was a little off balance and Travis is such a competitor.' And I love that because it just speaks to his leadership ability.

"It speaks to the self-confidence that Coach Reid has in himself, too, 'cause he doesn't take that personally at all. He doesn't look at that and feel like someone offended him."
